Softball could soon be coming to Oregon-Davis. Athletic Director Jerry Miller discussed the possibility of adding a softball program during Monday’s school board meeting, and Superintendent Dr. Don Harman estimates that about 20 student athletes and parents were there to show their support.
“We have a lot of students who would like for us to start softball,” Harman says. “I will tell you that the board and myself are very supportive of starting a softball program. We just need to look at all of the costs, all of the liability issues, and things like that.”
Harman says Miller will give him more information, so school officials can make a decision for this year. The superintendent says they’ll likely look at adding a club softball team this spring, with the possibility of having a full IHSAA team in 2021.
