The Winamac Town Council has decided to continue with its contribution to the Pulaski County Chamber of Commerce, after all. Last month, council members decided to hold off on giving $1,000 to the chamber’s Tourism Bureau, until they could find out more about how that money was being used.
Town Manager Brad Zellers checked with chamber officials and shared their response with the town council last week. “They utilize that for advertising, promoting town,” he said. “It helps with some downtown events. They do a lot of job fairs and things.” He added that the chamber has a fairly small budget, and the town’s contribution does help.
Council members unanimously agreed to give the Pulaski County Chamber of Commerce $1,000.
