For the second month in a row, the Starke County Park Board has a new member. Mark Simpkins was introduced during Tuesday’s meeting.
Board President Richard Ballard explained that Simpkins replaces Kathy Norem, who had just recently been appointed herself. “We had Kathy on the board for a meeting, and then it was found that she couldn’t serve because she’s a commissioner,” Ballard said. “So we had to find a replacement, and I believe Judge [Kim] Hall appointed you. We’re happy to have you.”
Tuesday’s meeting also marked the return of Board Member Chris Lawrence, after a brief hiatus.
