A motorcycle rider was airlifted to a hospital Thursday, after a crash on State Road 2. LaPorte County sheriff’s deputies say they were called to the 7800 block of West State Road 2 at about 3:15 Thursday morning, after getting a report of an unresponsive man lying along the roadway. When police arrived, they reportedly found a crash scene nearby.
Investigators believe William J. Hoggard, 39, of Cedar Lake, was riding a Harley-Davidson east on State Road 2, when the motorcycle failed to negotiate a curve and overturned in someone’s lawn. Deputies say Hoggard was airlifted to a regional area hospital for treatment of a lower body injury.
