The Town of Winamac is encouraging residents to get rid of any junk that may be sitting in their yards. Residents can dispose of unwanted items free of charge today and tomorrow at the Winamac Municipal Utilities Complex, according to Town Manager Brad Zellers.
“Yard waste, if they’ve got a mattress in their yard, they can bring it and throw it in there, clean their yard up,” Zellers recently told the town council. “This is to make the town look better.” He said items like paint, chemicals, and tires will not be accepted.
The event will be limited to those who live within the Winamac town limits only. Those disposing items will be asked to show a utility bill or identification.
