Work on the Norwayne Field splash pad is set to start next week. James Young told the rest of the North Judson Town Council Monday that the town’s utility department tentatively plans to start removing the existing concrete on Tuesday, with TLC Plumbing planning to get to work soon after that.
Council members approved Young’s recommendation to hire Jason DeYoung to install the concrete. “He quoted it at $5,840, which is substantially less than the $13,500 we got as the other quote,” Young explained.
When it comes to getting the concrete itself, Young said Ozinga won’t provide a full donation but is offering a 25-percent rebate.
The town still has to hire someone to do the electrical work. Town officials wanted to get a second quote, but still hadn’t received one by Monday’s meeting. Young stressed that the decision will have to be made soon, to keep the project on schedule.
