LaPorte County Police are investigating a hit-and-run crash that left a bicyclist seriously injured Thursday night.
Sheriff’s deputies believe the juvenile bicyclist had been traveling northbound in the 6000 block of North County Road 400 West and was hit from behind by a passenger vehicle. When police got there, they say they found the injured bicyclist lying on the road, but the other vehicle had left.
It was later found parked at a home on County Road 500 West and was impounded by deputies, according to the police report. The juvenile was airlifted to a regional hospital for an upper body injury.
