The Eastern Pulaski School Board took action Wednesday to fill a few open positions before the start of the school year.
Winamac Middle School will have some couple new teachers. Duane Yost was hired to teach social studies, while Micah Combs will teach English/language arts, according to the list of Wednesday’s personnel items provided by Superintendent Dara Chezem.
A few current teachers were also transferred to different positions. Josh Burgess will now teach PE. Hope Rhodes will teach middle school science, while Emma Myers was transferred to an English/language arts position at the middle and high schools. Board members also approved the hiring of Elaine Krintz as a school nurse, while Jay Podell was terminated from a position with the transportation department.
The school board also accepted the resignation of former middle/high school English/language arts teacher Nicole Scherer. She’s taken a position as a third grade teacher at Knox Elementary School, following the approval of the Knox School Board on Tuesday.
The Eastern Pulaski School Board will meet again on Monday at 5:30 p.m. EDT in the Eastern Pulaski Conference/Meeting Center. The first day of class is scheduled for Wednesday.
