Heather Quinn Named Oregon-Davis Elementary Dean of Students

Oregon-Davis Elementary School has some new leadership. Longtime teacher Heather Quinn was appointed to a newly-created dean of students position during last month’s school board meeting, following Principal Bill Bennett’s promotion to superintendent.

Bennett says he’ll officially remain the principal to help with state reporting and other mandated duties, but Quinn will handle most of the day-to-day decisions. “We feel that we had an in-house candidate who doesn’t necessarily meet the requirements to be a building principal but has exhibited – we had multiple candidates exhibit that they would be great leaders,” Bennett explains. “So, yes, it will technically be a new position, but they will be doing a lot of the duties of what the former elementary principal would’ve done.”

Bennett says Quinn officially began her new position on July 21 and is already working with teachers.
