Iowa Man Accused of Drug Dealing Following LaPorte County Traffic Stop

An Iowa man is accused of dealing cocaine and marijuana, following a LaPorte County traffic stop Tuesday. Sheriff’s deputies say they pulled over a vehicle driven by Marques J. Wright, 27, of Langworthy, Iowa on the Indiana Toll Road, after he allegedly committed a traffic infraction while changing lanes and then followed another westbound vehicle too closely.

During the traffic stop, police say “a large quantity of illegal drugs was located.” Wright was taken to the LaPorte County Jail.

The sheriff’s deputy who made the traffic stop was working the Domestic Highway Enforcement program, an effort aimed at disrupting the flow of drugs and weapons. It’s one of the programs put in place as part of LaPorte County’s High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area designation.
