LaCrosse Awarded $1.5 Million in Grant Funding for Water Project

The Town of LaCrosse has gotten a $1.5 million boost for its water utility project. The town is planning to start work on a new water plant next year. The estimated $4 million project will also include new water meters, upgraded hydrants and valves, and the replacement of more than 3,000 feet of water lines.

In a press release Friday, LaCrosse officials said the State Revolving Fund has agreed to buy down the project’s cost by $1.5 million. That’s in addition to a $700,000 Wastewater/Drinking Water Program grant announced by the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs last week.

Town officials say it’s the largest grant received by the town and brings LaCrosse up to a total of $2.5 million in state and federal grants awarded over the past five years.
