The Knox Community School Corporation will be keeping its school resource officer for another year. The school board Tuesday approved a memorandum of understanding with the City of Knox, allowing Travis Schieber to continue serving as school resource officer.
Superintendent Dr. William Reichhart told board members that it’s been a good relationship. “I think the administrative team would all agree that he’s a great asset to our school corporation and has really done a really nice job when he’s been here and helps us with our school safety needs and everything else in addition to that, so a good, good staff member for us, as well as a good SRO,” Reichhart said.
Reichhart said the only major change from last year’s agreement is when the school corporation pays the city for Schieber’s services, but Reichhart said it won’t affect the school corporation’s budget.
