A death investigation is underway in LaPorte County, after human remains were reportedly found in a recently-harvested cornfield. Sheriff’s deputies were called to the 3000 block of West County Road 800 North just before 5:00 p.m. Wednesday.
The Sheriff’s Office says that once the discovery was confirmed, detectives were called to the scene. Deputies remained there overnight, and detectives and assisting agencies returned early Thursday morning. The investigation continues.
