The local community continues chipping in, to keep Eastern Pulaski students safe during the pandemic. Superintendent Dara Chezem says the school board recently accepted donations of disposable and washable masks, as well as hand sanitizer from Casey’s General Store and the Star City Lions Club. There was also an anonymous donation to pay off negative student lunch accounts, according to the draft meeting minutes.
In other business, Chezem says a scoring table and two buses that were beyond repair were officially declared surplus. “We surplused it for scrap because it was going to be more expensive to repair them, keep them on property, and pay for insurance and things,” Chezem explains.
She says the surplus items may be sold at auction or donated.
