Panhandle Pathway Added to National Trails System

The Panhandle Pathway has officially been added to the National Trails System. The 22-mile trail in Pulaski and Cass counties was designated a “national recreation trail” in an announcement from U.S. Secretary of the Interior David Bernhardt last week. A total of 30 trails in 25 states were included in the announcement.

To become a national recreation trail, its managing organization must apply for the designation, according to the Department of the Interior. Those added to the system will get a certificate of designation, a set of trail markers, and a letter of recognition from Secretary Bernhardt.
