Efforts to strengthen Pulaski County’s leadership continue to gather support. Pulaski Memorial Hospital recently chipped in $2,500 to the Community Foundation of Pulaski County’s Forward Thinking Leadership Initiative. It’s the first installment of a $7,500 pledge.
That makes the hospital the first nonprofit organization to offer financial support to the initiative, according to a community foundation press release. The initiative includes training sessions for current and potential elected officials and nonprofit leaders, as well as community development sessions from Ball State’s Indiana Communities Institute. Pulaski Memorial Hospital President and CEO Tom Barry says the hospital recognizes the need for future leaders, and plans to encourage its own employees and board members to take part in the training opportunities.
Other contributors include the county government and the towns of Winamac and Monterey. A large part of the Forward Thinking Leadership Initiative’s funding is coming from a Lilly Endowment Community Leadership Grant.
