Local organizations continue to rethink their events, amid surging COVID-19 cases. The Starke County Chamber of Commerce has postponed this year’s Henry F. Schricker Award Dinner.
It had been scheduled for November 12. Executive Director Brenda Palmer says that even with all the precautions in place, it would still have been impossible to guarantee everyone’s safety from the coronavirus.
The chamber promises that all the award recipients will be honored with “in depth stories” dedicated to each of them. Palmer will contact those who have reserved tickets to discuss options.
The recipient of this year’s Henry F. Schricker “Service Before Self” Award is Mark Rippy. Affordable Insurance has been named the chamber’s 2021 Business of the Year, while the Constellation of Starke Executive Committee and Starke County’s school corporations are getting the 2020 Above & Beyond Award.
