A local hospital has gotten some statewide recognition for its care for infants and moms. Pulaski Memorial Hospital was named an INspire Hospital of Distinction by the Indiana Hospital Association.

The program aims to recognize birthing hospitals that address key drivers of maternal and infant health, specifically, infant safe sleep, breastfeeding, tobacco prevention and cessation, perinatal substance use, and obstetric hemorrhage. It’s part of the state’s larger effort of reducing infant mortality.
