Starke, Pulaski Counties Report One-Percent Drops in Unemployment Rates

Unemployment rates have dropped a percentage point in Starke and Pulaski counties.

Starke County’s October unemployment rate was 5.4 percent, while Pulaski County’s was 3.9, according to the latest report from the Indiana Department of Workforce Development. But those rates are still well over a percentage point higher than last October’s. Both counties also had more residents working last month than the month before, and their labor forces increased slightly.

The state as a whole had a non-seasonally adjusted unemployment rate of 4.8 percent in October, while the national rate dropped to 6.6 percent.
