The Eastern Pulaski Community School Corporation is getting an assessment of the roof at the elementary school.
The school board Monday hired Tremco to perform a nuclear moisture scan and roof survey, while also repairing 70 feet of flashing, according to Superintendent Dara Chezem. She says much of the roof is 23 years old.
“We want to have a good idea of the shape it is in,” Chezem explains. “They’ll be able to do this study to help us determine if there’s areas of moisture underneath the roof and to give us some ideas on areas that might need to be restored, in hopes that we can keep it in tip-top shape, rather than completely replace it over time, which would be a cost savings.”
The total cost of the study and flashing repair is $12,420.
In other business, Chezem says the school board approved another five days of COVID leave for staff.
