Gary Residents Arrested Following DeMotte Bank Robbery, Porter County Police Chase

A bank robbery in DeMotte and a police chase into Porter County reportedly led to the arrest of two Gary residents Wednesday. The Kankakee Valley Post News says DeMotte Police were called to the Fifth Third Bank just before noon.

A short time later, Hebron Police say they located a vehicle matching the description of the one involved in the robbery, but instead of stopping, it allegedly continued on State Road 2 toward Valparaiso. Officers say other departments joined the pursuit, before the vehicle went the wrong way through the roundabout at County Road 100 South and crashed into a concrete median, according to the Northwest Indiana Times.

The Post News says Ronnie Adams Jr., 29, and Paris Davis, 28, were interviewed by police and taken to the Jasper County Jail. The Times reports that the guns used in the robbery turned out to be air soft weapons.
