A police chase in Pulaski and Jasper counties Wednesday morning reportedly led to the arrest of a Kingsford Heights man on drug possession charges. A Pulaski County sheriff’s deputy says he responded to a call about a possible impaired driver around 12:30 a.m. He says he located the vehicle, but instead of stopping, it sped away, before eventually crashing in Jasper County.
The driver, identified as James Blaine Johnson, reportedly had to be removed from the vehicle by emergency services and flown to South Bend Memorial Hospital, before being arrested. He’s accused of resisting law enforcement, possession of cocaine or a narcotic drug, and possession of marijuana.
Jasper County, Medaryville, and Winamac Police, along with the Francesville Fire Department, assisted the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office.
