LaPorte Woman Falsely Reports Road Rage, Gets Arrested for Drunk Driving, According to Sheriff’s Deputies

A LaPorte woman who called police claiming that her vehicle was rammed by another vehicle ended up being arrested on suspicion of drunk driving.

The LaPorte County Sheriff’s Office says it got a report of a road rage incident on U.S. 20 near Fail Road around 3:30 Friday morning. But when deputies located the two vehicles on State Road 2, they say they “found no evidence to indicate that the two vehicles ever contacted each other.”

Police say it turned out that the driver of the suspect vehicle was the woman’s boyfriend and the woman who called appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. Delana K. Romano, 28, was taken to the LaPorte County Jail.
