West Central students could soon have a new option for religious education. Superintendent Dan Zylstra says a group of local churches has expressed interest in setting up a program.
“It is a true pullout program,” Zylstra explains. “And so, they would actually be taken off campus and they would receive religious instruction there and then they would come back. So we would just be accommodating their schedule.”
Zylstra says the students would not receive academic credit for the religious classes, although Indiana Code does allow for that possibility at the high school level. The program would be similar to one currently offered to students in White County.
