The Starke County Highway Department says its crews are spending their Friday morning trying to scrape ice off the roads. A department Facebook post warns drivers to “slow down, stay in the wheel path, leave ample following distance and avoid sudden stops.”
The Highway Department says drifting snow is likely to continue, and road salt becomes less effective when temperatures dip below 20 degrees.
