Ball State Students Begin Study of North Judson

A Ball State University class has begun its study of Downtown North Judson. J.P. Hall and six of his graduate students conducted their first site visit Monday. Hall told the town council Monday night that they’ll spend the next six weeks engaging with local community members and putting together a final document.

That will likely include a history of North Judson and its downtown area, plus an analysis of its current conditions, such as infrastructure and building stock. But it’s also expected to include a revitalization plan, giving North Judson some of the tools it needs to seek a Main Street designation. That, in turn, would open the door to eventual façade grants, among other resources.

As a next step, Hall and his students are planning a virtual community engagement event on March 29.
