Knox Board of Works Agrees to Release Remaining Penalties on 8 S. Main

The City of Knox has taken some of the final procedural steps related to its takeover of a downtown building. A portion of 8 South Main Street’s roof collapsed years ago. The city took possession of the building last year, after the previous owners only reportedly paid $75 of the $2,250 fine.

Now that the deed has been signed over to the city, the board of works recently agreed to release the remainder of the penalties against the former owners, at the recommendation of Director of Building and Code Compliance Kenny Pfost.
