Unemployment Rates Up in Starke, Pulaski Counties

Starke County’s unemployment rate continues to rise. Its February unemployment rate was 6.1 percent, according to the latest report from the Indiana Department of Workforce Development. That’s up from 5.8 percent the month before and 4.8 percent in February of 2020.

Pulaski County’s unemployment rate also rose, but it remains closer to pre-pandemic levels. Its February rate was 4.2 percent, up from 3.9 in January and 3.8 in February of 2020.

The state as a whole had a non-seasonally adjusted February unemployment rate of 4.7 percent, while the national rate dipped to 6.6 percent.
