Road closures or lane restrictions are coming to highways in Starke, Pulaski, and LaPorte counties. Starting Thursday, April 8, U.S. 30 will be down to one lane in each direction over the Kankakee River, as part of a bridge deck overlay project. The Indiana Department of Transportation says the lane closures are expected to continue through late June.
Starting Monday, State Road 114 will be closed between Pulaski County Road 1600 West and U.S. 421 for bridge deck patching and joint repair over Hill Ditch. INDOT’s official detour follows U.S. 421, State Road 14, and U.S. 231.
Upgrades to State Road 2/Lincolnway in Downtown LaPorte also start Monday. INDOT says the project will begin with ADA and pedestrian work, before moving on to nighttime paving work around May 21. At that point, motorists can expect lane closures or moving flagging operations between 9:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.
INDOT urges drivers to slow down and give themselves extra time to drive through construction zones.
