Revving his engine at a police car reportedly led to the arrest of a LaPorte man on suspicion of operating while intoxicated. The LaPorte County Sheriff’s Office says it happened around 2:00 a.m. Wednesday in the 700 block of Washington Street in LaPorte.
A deputy says he was getting out of his fully marked police vehicle when the driver of an approaching vehicle “began to rev the speed of the vehicle’s engine.” The deputy got the attention of the driver, identified as Brad A. Ottum, 37. Ottum was taken to the hospital for medical clearance and then to the LaPorte County Jail.
