Winamac has a new town marshal. Officer Tyler Campbell was promoted to the position by the town council Monday. Former Town Marshal Mike Buchanan had been leading the department on an interim basis since Mark Hoffman stepped down last June.
Campbell thanked the council, calling it a great honor to serve the community in this capacity. A closed executive session is scheduled for tomorrow, to give council members a chance to discuss their expectations with him.
Meanwhile, Buchanan reported that Ryan Austin has been hired as a full-time police officer.
