Eastern Pulaski Elementary School’s furniture is getting an update after several decades. The school board last week approved the purchase of about $240,000 worth of new desks for students and teachers, at the recommendation of Superintendent Dara Chezem.
“The elementary student desks and teacher desks are original to when the elementary was built,” Chezem told board members. “In fact, some of the desks, I’ve been told, were actually moved from Star City during the consolidation.”
You can buy the old desks, along with a bunch of surplus equipment that’s been sitting in Eastern Pulaski’s bus barn, in an online auction. Bids are being taken until Thursday, May 27 at noon EDT.
