A reduction in force and a new school resource officer will be up for the Knox School Board’s approval tonight.
School officials are looking at cutting teaching positions due to declining enrollment, while Steve VanDerAa is being recommended for a school resource officer position for next school year.
In other business tonight, board members will consider adding a raised crosswalk across Culver Road to the school corporation’s ongoing building project. The crosswalk got the conditional approval of the Knox Board of Works last week.
The Knox School Board will also be asked to approve a contract with Moake Park Architectural Group, the firm selected to do the design work for the high school’s new vocational wing. An $89,000 copy machine contract with Adams Remco will be up for approval, as well.
Tonight’s Knox School Board meeting starts at 6:30 in the Knox Schools Administrative Office.
