North Judson Council Adjusts Pay Rates for Seasonal Utility Workers

The North Judson Utility Department will have some flexibility when it comes to paying part-time or seasonal workers. A salary ordinance amendment approved by the town council Monday lets the department pay up to $15 an hour for up to 40 hours per week.

Council President John Rowe felt it was important to be able to offer enough money to experienced candidates who want to work for the town but still have the option to pay less to those with less experience. He noted that full-time utility employees currently make $15 to $18.50 an hour, depending on how many months they’ve been on the job.
