North Judson-San Pierre will be upgrading some of its athletic equipment, thanks to the generosity of the local community. The school board last month accepted an anonymous $6,000 donation for new football uniforms. Corporation Treasurer Dalton Tunis told board members that any leftover money will go to the football or track teams.

On top of that, a Starke County Community Foundation grant will help recognize the accomplishments of N.J.-S.P. swimmers. The foundation says the high school pool will get a new record board, thanks to a $700 grant from the Our Kids Excel Fund.
The fund was started in 2019 by alumni Amy Mosher, Kirt Verhagen, and Chris Verhagen “to support efforts that benefit North Judson-San Pierre students,” leveling the playing field with larger schools.
