Work is underway on Winamac’s new splash pad. Town Manager Brad Zellers told the town council Monday that the permit has been received. “It’s moving forward,” he said. “If I’m not mistaken, it looked like most of the features are there today that’ll be in the splash pad. . . . So it’s exciting.”
Water Superintendent Jeremy Beckner said the water and sewer taps are done, and Zellers reported that the new shelter is moving forward. The town council also agreed to make the intersection of Logan and Adams a four-way stop, to increase the area’s safety.
The splash pad itself is being donated in memory of Owen Abbott, a Winamac Middle School student who was killed in a school bus accident in Marshall County in 2018.
