The Pulaski County Commissioners have accepted a guaranteed maximum price for the Justice Center expansion. Construction manager Tonn & Blank has set the maximum construction cost at just over $4.5 million, according to information shared on the county’s Facebook page.
Once soft costs are factored in, the total project cost would be a maximum of almost $5.6 million, which is about what the county had planned to borrow. Project liaison Nathan Origer told the commissioners Monday that Tonn & Blank can work with contractors to try to bring costs down as the project gets underway.
The construction manager has also recommended rebidding five project categories. No bids at all were received for landscaping; glass, glazing, and entrances; and specialties like plumbing fixtures and fire extinguishers. Tonn & Blank also wants more bids for roofing and flooring. Those bids are due by July 16.
