Pulaski County Philanthropist Honored with Renovated Library History Room

The Pulaski County Public Library is honoring the memory of a local philanthropist with the renovation of its history room. Delores “Dee” Galbreath was a co-founder of Galbreath, Inc. and Galfab, Inc. and a regular patron of the library.

Now, the library says its history room has been updated to incorporate several themes from her home, including replicas of its woodwork, dining room door, and a large colonial map. Plans are also in the works for new window treatments, a built-in bookcase, and a rotating display of Dee’s antique collection, according to Pulaski County Public Library Executive Director MacKenzie Ledley. The history room features an updated microfilm reader and genealogical items from the library’s physical collection, in addition to its digital resources.

The renovation was made possible by a donation from Steve and Debbie Galbreath. Steve noted in a library press release that his mother was an avid reader and that anyone who knew her probably “saw a book in her hand at some point.” Monday’s announcement came on the second anniversary of Dee’s death.
