Efforts to welcome new residents to Pulaski County have gotten a $3,500 boost. The Pulaski County Tribe says it got a grant from the Community Foundation of Pulaski County to help launch its Warm Welcome Package project.

Local businesses, organizations, and residents will be able to provide items or information.  Tribe volunteers will package them and coordinate delivery to new community members.

Diana Day with the Pulaski County Tribe said in a press release that the project will help the nonprofit group share information about the resources and services available throughout the county. But beyond that, welcoming new residents is considered a major need in the community. Being welcoming and open-minded was one of the four key aspirations identified during the community foundation’s “community conversations” initiative in 2019.

Meanwhile, the Pulaski County Tribe says it’s recently launched a “2nd Saturday Play in Pulaski County” campaign and has commissioned a local artist to paint a sandhill crane mural in Downtown Medaryville.
