Four of Pulaski County’s Tippecanoe River bridges are set to get some repairs. The county commissioners recently accepted a $112,000 quote from JCI Bridge Group for work on bridges 282, 207, 183, and 158.
Highway Superintendent Gary Kruger said it will prolong the life of some of the county’s main bridges. “We physically was out on all four of the bridges with them, their engineer, and he showed us everything that needed to be done,” he told the commissioners. “We’ve been very pleased with the bridge work that they’ve done, so we just decided to go with them.”
Kruger says the work will involve repairing the end joints and concrete patching. No firm dates have been set for any bridge closures yet, since the work will likely be scheduled around JCI’s larger projects, but at least some of it is expected to take place this summer.
The commissioners also agreed to let the Pulaski County Highway Department switch its weekly schedule to four 10-hour days from Memorial Day to Labor Day. That schedule was later finalized by the county council.
