A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for Marshall, Starke, and LaPorte counties until 8:00 p.m. EDT / 7:00 p.m. CDT Saturday. The National Weather Service says 70 mile-per-hour wind gusts could damage trees, mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings.
The local area also remains under a Tornado Watch until 10:00 p.m. EDT / 9:00 p.m. CDT, along with a Flash Flood Watch until Sunday morning. The Kankakee River was approaching minor flood stage as of Saturday evening. It’s expected to fall below flood stage early Wednesday morning.
