Wanted East Chicago Man Arrested during LaPorte County Traffic Stop

A wanted East Chicago man was allegedly found driving in LaPorte County with a suspended license in a car without a license plate. Sheriff’s deputies say they stopped the vehicle just after midnight Thursday at the intersection of U.S. 20 and Fail Road. The driver allegedly couldn’t produce any identification, and the name and date of birth he gave couldn’t be confirmed through a computer check.

Police say they eventually identified the driver as Christian I. Robinson-Tyler, 33, a man wanted by the Lake County Sheriff’s Department. Now, he also faces a possible Level 6 felony charge for identity deception and a possible misdemeanor charge for driving while suspended prior.
