The North Judson Business Pitch Competition is officially coming back for a second year. It gives entrepreneurs like Andy Defrancesco a chance to compete for cash prizes to help them launch or expand their business in the North Judson area.
The Starke County Economic Development Foundation says this year’s event, called Starke Tank, will be held Saturday, October 16 at 6:00 p.m. CDT in the North Judson-San Pierre High School Auditorium. Startup businesses less than three years old or companies planning to expand or launch a new product or service line will pitch their ideas to a panel of judges. Entrepreneurs don’t have to live in town to enter, but winning businesses will be required to locate within three miles of Downtown North Judson.
Applications are due by August 20. More information can be found on the Starke County Economic Development Foundation’s website.
Starke Tank is being organized by the foundation, along with Verhagen Investments, LLC. Sponsors include Kankakee Valley REMC, NIPSCO, North Judson-San Pierre Schools, Kersting’s Cycle Center, the Town of North Judson, 1st Choice Insurance, and Osborne Advantage Real Estate, and more sponsors are being sought.
