The Eastern Pulaski School Board is finalizing plans for the upcoming school year. Superintendent Dara Chezem says most of the corporation handbooks were approved by the school board last week, while the athletic handbook will be up for approval next month.
“The one addition in the athletic handbook was the process for appeals and we added the attendance requirement that we’ve been using to participate in practice and games,” Chezem explains, “but those aren’t major changes.”
The school board also finalized the school corporation’s policy overhaul. Chezem says Eastern Pulaski has begun using policy consultant NEOLA. “We get new policies and required updates twice a year,” she says, “and NEOLA will help us to make sure that we keep up to date with these policies and are applying the laws and regulations that we’re supposed to be.”
Chezem says the board also authorized her to fill a few remaining openings before the August meeting, so the staff will be in place before the start of school.
