Oregon-Davis Fundraisers Raise Thousands for American Cancer Society, Just in Case Foundation

The Oregon-Davis School community is stepping up in the fight against cancer and sudden infant death syndrome. Superintendent Bill Bennett says last month’s benefit for the Just in Case Foundation proved successful. “The Just in Case Foundation was started by one of our teachers who unfortunately lost one of their twins to SIDS,” Bennett explains, “and as a community, we raised $12,000 to help launch that foundation.”

Its goals are to provide CPR training and fund the purchase of Owlets for high-risk babies. The wearable devices monitor a child’s heart rate and oxygen levels.

On top of that, Bennett says the elementary school’s annual Mini Relay for Life raised $2,800 for the American Cancer Society.
