Two Gary men were arrested, after LaPorte County Police say they seized three pistols during a traffic stop, one of which had been reported stolen. Sheriff’s deputies say it happened Friday morning in the 4000 block of West U.S. 20.
The driver, Mustafaa S. El’Malik, 22, faces a Level 6 felony charge of theft of a firearm and a misdemeanor charge of carrying a handgun without a license. The passenger, Justin J. Burnside, 25, is also accused of carrying a handgun without a license. Both were released on bond the same day.
