U.S. 421 will be closed in two sections in Pulaski County starting on or after Monday. INDOT says U.S. 421 will be closed between Gordon Street and County Road 300 South in the Francesville area for a culvert and storm sewer line replacement.
The closure is expected to last about five weeks. The official detour uses state roads 14, 39, and 16.
Meanwhile, seal coating will be taking place on U.S. 421 next week between State Road 114 and State Road 16. It’s expected to take four days, but the exact schedule will depend on the weather.
INDOT suggests using State Road 114, U.S. 231, and State Road 16 as a detour. If you end up driving through the seal coating work zone, drive slowly and leave extra space between vehicles, so stone chips don’t damage your windshield or paint.
INDOT says seal coating is designed to extend the life of the pavement by three to five years.
