A Rolling Prairie woman is dead, following a crash with a semi truck on State Road 2. LaPorte County sheriff’s deputies say it happened around 6:45 Tuesday morning.
Police believe a semi-tractor pulling a flatbed trailer was in the process of turning west onto State Road 2 from northbound County Road 600 East after stopping at the stop sign, when the trailer was hit by a 2014 GMC pickup truck heading east. The driver of the pickup truck, Barbara S. Stanish, 22, was pronounced dead at the scene. The semi driver wasn’t hurt.
The Sheriff’s Office says toxicology test results are pending, and the crash is still under investigation.
