The Bass Lake Beach and Campground will continue to be discussed during tonight’s Starke County Park Board meeting. The park board took direct control of the property earlier this year, following the death of lessee Richard Callahan.
Now, board members are trying to sort out how much of the campground payments went to Callahan Development, LLC, and how much went to the county, along with what equipment belongs to each entity. Electrical upgrades and the issue of campers remaining on-site during the off-season will also be discussed tonight.
There will also be some updates on the Starke County Forest, including sign installation and a walk and run event proposed for October. Tonight’s Starke County Park Board meeting starts at 6:00 in Starke County Annex Building No. 1.
