Community Services of Starke County Gets Donation from America’s Farmers Grow Communities

Community Services of Starke County has gotten a $2,500 boost for its Knox Senior Center, thanks to a local farmer and the Bayer Fund. The America’s Farmers Grow Communities program lets farmers apply for grant funding for a nonprofit of their choice.

Shirley Fosler was recently selected, according to a Bayer Fund press release, and she chose to direct the $2,500 to Community Services. Community Services of Starke County Executive Director Cynthia Benke says the organization will use that money to help with the cost of fixing an emergency exit at the Knox Senior Center.

The press release says the America’s Farmers programs have awarded more than $59 million since 2010.
